Vinyl letters will arrive in a roll with of three parts - the letters, a liner, and a covering of application tape. Each different color, font or style is in a different roll.

How to Prepare the Surface

Clean surface before applying letters.Use a non-ammonia based household cleaner or an alcohol based cleaner such as denatured alcohol. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Vinyl letters may be applied to enamel based paint or high quality latex enamel. Results will not be good if applied to poor quality latex paint.

Temperature

Surface and air temperatures must be above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius).

How to Apply

Leave the vinyl letters covered with the transfer tape.

Position vinyl letters with small pieces of masking tape at ends.

Apply masking tape vertically through the center of vinyl letters.

Remove masking tape from one end, fold back vinyl letters toward center tape.

Pull the bottom layer (release liner) away from application tape and vinyl letters until close to center masking tape. You will have the top transfer tape and the vinyl letters left.

Cut bottom layer (release liner) with scissors and discard.

Squeegee down exposed half of vinyl letters, starting from the center.

Remove remaining masking tape and fold back the other half.

Cut away the rest of the bottom layer (release liner) and squeegee into place, starting from center.

Remove application tape. Vinyl letter should stick to your sign surface. Using small squeegee or credit card, apply pressure to letters and burnish edges for good stick.

Removal Instructions

Rremove old vinyl lettering by peeling off. If they have been in place for a while, use a hair dryer to soften vinyl..

Heat a small area for a few seconds.
Lift one corner of the lettering off with a razor blade.
Once you have lifted an area large enough to grasp with your fingers, slowly pull the letters off the surface in a diagonal direction.

When the letter becomes difficult to remove, reheat the area.

Repeat until all letters are removed.

Remove any remaining adhesive with a spray can of adhesive remover, available at your local hardware store.
